Apesar de serem um colectivo da cena reggae dos tempos modernos, os Donkey Jaw Bone revelam um nível e um respeito superior pela tradição original do Roots Rock Reggae.
Sob o lema ‘Back to the Roots’, na formação original apresentam-se com um vocalista que nos presenteia com palavras de consciência em Francês, Inglês, Árabe e Crioulo; mas é como banda de suporte que se tem destacado por terras Francesas e Jamaicanas(!) onde tem tocado ao longo dos últimos anos como convidados de artistas como Sly & Robbie, Black Uhuru, Misty in Roots ou The Congos!

O fascínio pela era dourada da música reggae é claro, ao escutarmos os riddims pesados e instrumentalmente diversos que a banda cria, com destaque para os imensos arranjos de sopros e percussões.
A produção de Wendo Guenet nos seus estúdios analógicos em Paris completa o processo de apresentar uma sonoridade moderna restaurando toda a essência da vibração e ressonância dos mágicos anos 70.

Uma banda que representa em alta, o crescente ímpeto revivalista da música roots dos anos 70, e que prepara para se apresentar através de dois novos álbuns (a saírem durante Outono de 2011): ‘Make a Change’ com o lendário vocalista dos The Cimarons, Winston Reedy; e ‘Paris is Burning’ com uma das mais cativantes vozes da nova geração Jamaicana, Derajah.

Desde a 1ª metade dos anos 70 que Winston Reedy é aclamado como uma das vozes mais genuínas e inconfundíveis do reggae britânico. Um inicio de carreira com uma das grandes bandas da historia do UK Reggae, The Cimarons, e 7 álbuns a solo desde então, garantem a Winston Reedy um estatuto de veterano, agora ampliado pelo encontro com a banda Donkey Jaw Bone em Londres nos anos de 2009/10.
